A near exact replica of the gun carried by Harrison Ford in Bladerunner was recreated over the course of 6 years by Mythbusters's Adam Savage and then written about on Boing Boing, by the very same man. I wish the write up was a little more detailed, but what is there is cool. His description of his Maltese Falcon replica at the 2008 TED conference is worth a watch too.

Adam Savage's Blade Runner Gun
