Head meet wall, I mean Gruul

Last night we stepped into Gruul's Lair for the second time as a full guild. After the wipefest that was High King last week I was pumped that we learned from our mistakes and would get through him easily and then get lots of attempts on Gruul.

On the first pull no one healed the main tank and we were done in 5 seconds. Pull #2 went better, but we lost an off tank early and things spiraled out of control. The third attempt proved to be the sweet spot everyone did their job, focused and we had two pairs of T4 shoulders and a rouge helm to show for it. So on to Gruul, a lot of our raiders had downed him before (including yours truly), but we had about 10 who had never seen him.

The first try went bad, we had 5 people die on the first ground slam and wiped shortly there after. Our second attempt proved to be the second closest we would get all night (25%). From there on our attempts got progressively worse. Our melee kept pulling aggro from the tank, our healers would get silenced and not call it out and random people still died to ground slams. By the 7th attempt the raid leader let everyone know that it would be our last so they needed to focus. Beyond an bugged range aggro pull (range should not be able to pull aggro) by me at the start we focused and got him down to 20% at which point the MT died again.

While the repairs are expensive and the wipes are frustrating it really does feel nice to feel like we are progressing. We were in one group Kara limbo not three weeks ago and now we are downing High King in three trys. We are going back to Gruul's again tonight with what should be a renewed focus, I'll post screens here if that is really the case.

Arena Notes

Still mixing and matching rosters on different teams, I'm still on the same 2v2 team, but was kicked from my brothers 3v3 team /cry. It was for the best though, because I went 9-1 with my new 3v3 team this week and earned 490 arena points for it. The roster includes Grajam who I mentioned previously and Penfifteen, Grajam's and my friend from Mal'Ganis. He and Grajam both came from top arena teams on Mal'Ganis to try and sweep the 2v2 bracket for Nazjatar's battle group. I just happen to be friends with both and was lucky enough to be included in their 3v3.

Rank Notes
Not much to say on this front, with no new gear in the last week I dropped to #8 on the server in frost damage.
